How to get a haircut with Curly Blonde Surfer Hair (its getting bushy)?

Alright, I have the kind of surferish blonde curly hair look going, but the thing is it is starting to get too bushy and curly, and not like the neat kind of surfer blonde curly hair. I do the look alright when I put hair gel on, but the last time I got a haircut the lady totally screwed up my hair and made it so short and ugly I feared getting another haircut again for months.

Its been three months since my last haircut. What should I tell the hairdresser so that I can maintain the legnth and style of my haircut, while cutting out the bush (last time I said something like that, she asked me all these individual questions and my haircut was awful!)

Just ask her to THIN it. Then you could use "frizz-ease" to calm the bushiness down.

Then, once you find someone you trust again, STAY with that stylist!!!

BTY, guys with long hair TOTALLY ROCK!!!

Tell her that you just want your dead ends off %26amp;%26amp; to **thin** your hair out a bit, and that you don't want to lose length.

How to get curls/waves in ALREADY thick/curly hair?

I have very thick hair that is naturally curly (sometimes it reminds me of the 80s looks). I want to wear my hair down for an event and want it to look good. Mousse leaves it greasy looking and not exactly what I want it to look like. If I want hair that looks like these pictures what do you think would be best?

http://www.oceleb.com/img/hilary-duff/hi... I'm thinking if I straighten it then use curlers or a larger curling iron it might work without going crazy. What is your suggestion? I've looked but it's difficult to find out how to curl already curly hair (if you get what I'm saying). I know I have plenty of wonderful body in my hair to pull off the look...it's just that the hair often goes crazy or the curls go away and I'm left with thick/poof hair. PS My hair is a bit past my shoulders and I have shorter side bangs.

How to get curls/waves in ALREADY thick/curly hair?

I have hair just like yours. What I do is exactly what you said. You'll need to blow dry your hair straight FIRST and then use a wide curling iron or rollers. Use a little smoothing gel and spray gentle when you have the look you want.

But I would go and have someone to do it for you if you can and bring the pics with you. It's tough to do the back on your own. Good luck. I bet you'll be gorgeous. Go curls!

But they all pretty much (minus a couple) sound good. I dunno. Thanks. Report It

How to get curls/waves in ALREADY thick/curly hair?

Dont use an iron.

Use large rollers.

How to get curls/waves in ALREADY thick/curly hair?

take a shower. brush your hair out with a comb. Then scrunch your hair. That's how you get the waves. Or you can dry your hair with a drying straightener then scrunch it when its still a little wet.

How to get curls/waves in ALREADY thick/curly hair?

Don't straighten and re-curl your hair. You already have curls (lucky girl!!) so you need to learn how to work with them and reduce your frizz. Aveda has a line called "Be Curly" which should work well for you. Their Brilliant Humectant pomade would also keep your curls but get rid of the frizz. Check out the links below...

How to get curls/waves in ALREADY thick/curly hair?

-Read the book and visit the site below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser, butterfly clips, and a microfiber hair turban.

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent. They dry out curly hair.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. For looser curls it is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair. Then let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer with a diffuser.

- I really like the garnier fructis products. Aussie products works great too, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the website. Frizz-ease hair serum is amazing for fighting frizz.

- This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least the website. Hope this helps!

How to get curls/waves in ALREADY thick/curly hair?

Straighten your hair with an iron or blow dry straight after washing.(blow drying curly hair will make it wavy)

How to get curls/waves in ALREADY thick/curly hair?

I have curly hair as well. When want to wear it curly but not my natural curls I use a spiral iron and go over my natural curls to define and loosen them.

How to get curls/waves in ALREADY thick/curly hair?

I have very curly hair too.. When I want a softer curl I wash it then put a sylicone lotion on, rap it back up in the towel until I finish putting my make-up on. Then blow dry it as straight as I can get it, then I take medium sections of hair and use a large curling iron on it.. It turns out to be soft curls.. Good luck

Blowdrying curly hair?

My hair is naturally curly, and when it dries it gets a little poofy and frizzy...i dont like to straighten it, but how could i style it quick with a blow dryer? =D thanks alot, and anyother suggestions are appreciated too =) have a fantastic rest of the day!!!

Blowdrying curly hair?

Always use the defuser and some anti frizz stuff like Bio silk.

Blowdrying curly hair?

i have poofy hair, but i use Aussie mousse/leave-in conditioner on wet hair, and it reduces the poof. don't ever blow dry your hair without something like a protectant, or a diffuser.

Blowdrying curly hair?

don't blow dry curly hair if you don't have a diffuser. What you can do is let it air dry and scrunch your hair. What you do is

Wrap your hair in a small towel. Don't rub your hair at all with the towel. Comb your fingers or a wide-tooth comb through your hair and make a part as best as you can.Spray hairspray in your hair. Put it near the middle and bottom of your hair. Put gel in your hands and rub them together to spread the gel. Grab a small handful of hair by the ends and push it up toward the head. Hold it in place for a few moments while aiming the hair dryer at it to 'set' the gel/mousse/hair spray. Repeat this all over your head, reapplying the gel every time. Keep in mind that small handfuls yield tighter waves and large handfuls create full, loose waves.

Also leave in conditioner will often tame frizz as well as john frieda's frizz ease products.

If you want it straight you could use a blow dryer use a heat protectant!! Pin up the top section of your hair and use the round brush to blowdry your hair. Hold the hair sections out taut and point the hairdryer down to dry it. Do this section by section, so that your hair is completely dry. You may want to then dry up the hair, from the neck to the end of the strands. This makes it easier to get the hair on the back of the head.

If you have decided to use a hair straightener, put your hair into sections again, and run over your hair with the straightener. You can use a shine spray in the end.

Blowdrying curly hair?

Dear Whoever Wrote This,

I am sorry, but I have, like, short term memory loss and I forget your name and I am too lazy to go check. I have super curly hair as well and so does my friend. I hate it soooooo much when my hair is poofy, but its life. (have you tried FrizzEase???)

What I do is comb my hair while I am blow drying and comb it in to the style I like. Or... some advice... braid your hair at night and it is soooooo much easier to manage in the morning. So... Good Luck Fellow Curly Head!!

Toodles,

Serena

Blowdrying curly hair?

OOH! I love your question! I have curly hair too. I agree that it gets VERY poofy.=D But I use a special shampoo by Herbal Essences called "none of your frizziness" I don't really notice a change, but I use it anyway.

I do blow dry my hair, and I flat Iron my bangs, (If you don't have bangs, just flat iron the front part of your hair.) I put the rest behind my ears, or if it doesn't fit, i put it behind a headband.

Then I use a leave in conditioner, or a shine serum (don't use too much, it will make your hair greasy) I recommend the shine serum and leave-in conditioner from Garnier Fructis. It eliminates poof and frizz. I also use hairspray, and I brush it through to make it smooth (It helps with the frizz, but you don't have to use it.)

I hope my advice helps! =D

Blowdrying curly hair?

If you don't have a diffuser, then invest in one, you can get a nice one for under $20 at Sally Beauty Supplys nationwide and some that would even fit the blowdryer you already have. Try using gels that contain NO alcohol like Softee, Proclaim and Ampro protein styling gels, these are cheap but good (availabe at Sallys, walmart, doller stores etc.), they are brownish in color but will not stain anything. Alcohol in any form is very bad for your hair, it will dry it out and cause more damage and frizz in the long run then it controls short term. Do not use mousse, mousse will make your hair frizz more.... the only people who should use mousse are those who WANT to have poofy hair. Also try a good glossing polish/frizz eliminator like Proclaim Glossing Polish (available at Sallys also for about $6) or Garnier Fructeise also carries one but the Proclaim is much better and will last longer. When blow drying use a medium or low setting unless you are using a diffuser. You can try putting your fingers across the blowdryer to make an impromptu diffuser until you can get one. Also have your hair trimmed regularly, atleast every 12 weeks. The average person grows 1/2 an inch of hair in 4 weeks so if you trim off about 1/4 of an inch every 10 - 12 weeks you can grow your hair out if you want and at the same time keep the dead and dry ends off and that will help lesson the "poofyness" alot. try using a smoothing shampoo and conditioner, they won't take out your curl but will help hydrate them and make them lay better. Take a good multi-vitamin and massage your scalp on a daily basis, these will help your over-all scalp and hair condtion.

I have naturally curly hair but my friends think i should straighten my hair. What do you think?

I have naturally curly hair but my friends think i should straighten my hair. What do you think?

I have naturally curly hair but my friends think i should straighten my hair. What do you think?

You are looking cute in this hair. So don't get disturbed be stick to as you are. You are beautiful and gorgeous. Don't play with your hairs.

I have naturally curly hair but my friends think i should straighten my hair. What do you think?

Don't straighten it...leave it be. Enhancing the curl will keep it healthier and you don't want to risk damage as natural curl is very easily damaged.

I have naturally curly hair but my friends think i should straighten my hair. What do you think?

I'd say keep it curly. I have naturally curly hair as well and it's a major pain to straighten. Not to mention, depending on how you do it, you can really fry your hair and it's not fun to grow out damaged hair, especially since curly hair takes longer to grow. Plus, in the summer, it's better to leave your hair curly since straightening it means losing moisture which leads to the dreaded frizzies....

I have naturally curly hair but my friends think i should straighten my hair. What do you think?

depends on what YOU like

I have naturally curly hair but my friends think i should straighten my hair. What do you think?

Hi I'm a guy with natural curly hair. I used to hate my hair, my brother and sister both have straight hair. I wished that I had hair like them. So I was working at the local supermarket, and this lady say to me; I love your hair, is it natural? Yes it is I said. Well you are very luck say said, because she has to go to the salon to curl her hair. Well the moral of the story be happy with what you have, cause other people may have less.

And who care what people says the style is, this is about you and not them, and relaxing your hair will be a big mistake(I did it once, not a good idea, won't do that again)and curly hair is always in.

I have naturally curly hair but my friends think i should straighten my hair. What do you think?

dont do it I did it and I regret it now

Hair Styles for long black curly hair?

Hair Styles for long black curly hair?

Part your hair on the side. and have your bangs facing the other way. Like a part on your left side and your bangs on your right side. That's what mine is. I really like it. Put it up in a pony and still keep your bangs to the side. Pink tails, low ponies on one side. Ya that's all I can think of. GOOD LUCK!

Hair Styles for long black curly hair?

there arent many things you can do with curly hair

straighten it

Hair Styles for long black curly hair?

I HAVE LONG CURLY HAIR AN I LIKE TO PUT A HUMP AN THE BACK DOWN WITH THE BANGS ARE A SWOOP

Hair Styles for long black curly hair?

i have curly hair to. i like to keep it down and curl my top layer of hair then keep my bangs down i go for more of a vanessa hudgens look if you know who she is and sometimes i put a pump or i straighten it

Hair Styles for long black curly hair?

Long hair of any color or texture is not worn stylish because the length will limit your choices of styles. If your hair is beautiful, lots of body and shine, just wear it loose and smooth the curls to a wave. Otherwise, get a nice cut. Look in hair magazines and take a picture to a hairstylist you trust. Not to put you down, but the movie stars and tv stars are wearing medium to short hair.

Try going to bed when your hair is wet. It's always a lot wavier when I do that.

I would try moouse. I have curly hair and it works for me without being too hard.
