I have the same background and hair. It's fun to just put some hair serum and mousse in it and let it go wild. The Citre Shine hair serum has been really good for my hair and I also use the John Frieda curly hair mousse. Both pretty inexpensive and found at Target.

Another fun thing to do is put it in a low ponytail and then pull the pony tail over and through the base of your hair. It is elegant but super easy. Accentuate with some nice barretts.

Once I learned to embrace my curly hair, life was good. I literally get out of the shower, put some stuff it in and let it air dry. I get WAY more compliments on it than when I used to spend tons of time straightening it.

French braids are always good too.

Good luck!

i know how you feel i'm mixed with black and native american it's long and frizzy and nappy so i have to get a perm sometimes to make it straight. if your hair is past your shoulders you can put your in a low messy curly bun pinned up or two braided french twist buns on each side of your head.

I hope this works for you. And if you get a perm, it won't frizz or get all puffy.

I'm mixed too =]

I like to have cornrows or twisties. Like braid till the center then have the rest curly or straight. Or straighten just a front section (like bangs) the leave the rest curly and put it up.

My favorite to do is: straighten a 1/4" section of hair on both sides in the front, braid cornrows vertically till the center (should be about 4-6 braids) then leave the rest either curly or straight. It looks cute..

I know how that is... Do the A. KEYS thing and get it braided with beads. It's HOT and it will turn heads. Or just plain braids. Look up black hair styles and see what you love then learn how to do it or get professional help... not just any professional help the best hair dresser in the shop who has worked with hair like yours.
